About the Course
MIT xPRO’s Practical Realities of Quantum Computation and Quantum Communication is Course 1 of 2 in the Quantum Computing Realities program, focused on the real engineering constraints behind quantum computing and quantum networking.
You will compare trapped-ion and superconducting-qubit systems, learn what coherence times and gate counts are achievable today, and examine the physical limits of quantum coherence and communication over optical fiber.
The course is online, runs 4 weeks at about 3 to 5 hours per week, and includes hands-on work benchmarking quantum noise using the IBM Q Experience.
